Linux supported game is having FPS loss issues

It's DotA 2 for steam. It works fine for a bit, getting 100 fps. After I load another game it will be 30 fps, so this made me believe it's a caching issue, using previously loaded resources (shaders)

I have read these posts and it didn't work.
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Dota-2/issues/50
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Dota-2/issues/774

It's not a overheating issue or hardware my specs run it fine
http://pastebin.com/anGdQq5M

the way it hangs after it loads another game seems to be a linux or steam issue. Any idea where to start fixing this ;/?

linux mint 17.1

What desktop are you using? I have had multiple issues with Cinnamon and steam games in the past.

I'm using Cinnamon as well, I'd really like to know if you found any solutions?
