Java plugin and runescape

Hi, I'm trying to play on the runescape game site but I needed the java plugin.
I downloaded and installed the plugin and created the link to the plugin folder
but still get the same message as before about needing plugin.

I installed plugin /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_04/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32

and created link ln -sf /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_04/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so
/usr/lib/mozilla-1.4.2/plugins

In the /usr/lib/mozilla-1.4.2/plugins directory there is a link to libjavaplugin_oji.so

any help appreciated.

Bob

In the mozilla help/about mozilla the version is 1.4.2
and when I run synaptic it reports mozilla installed version 1.4.2

There is another plugin in the plugins folder which is the default plugin:
libnullplugin.so I don't know whether this is still trying to handle the applet from the site.

this is the error message I get....."this page contains information of a type (application/x-java-applet; jpi-version=1.4.2)
that can only be viewed with the appropriate plugin."

Thanks for the response.

Bob
