However, when I use my own computer and try to log in my server, my server didn't response. Is there a firewall blocking it?
I tried sudo iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 25565 -j ACCEPT
It didn't work too.
Guys plz help
What firewall software do you use on your server? The default firewall in Ubuntu is Uncomplicated firewall. Also can you ping your server from your own computer?
You can check if UFW is running by typing (with root privileges):
Code:
ufw status
You can open port 25565 in ufw by typing (with root privileges):
Code:
ufw allow 25565
That will allow communication on port 25565 on all interfaces. You can get more syntax information by looking into the man page for UFW.
It also looks that your server is hosted by alibabacloud.com. They seems to have a seperate firewall configuration as outlined in this document. Maybe look into that?
Hello Andare. I haven't heard of anyone making a Minecarft server on Linux in a long time. I generally think that Linux is the best operating system. I've been using it for a long time, I really like it. I think your idea is a good one and it will be accepted.
How can this be anything but a spammer?
Even the username speaks to it...
But they didn't do anything "wrong"... yet... well, I reported it anyhow.
Most probably it's the firewall on the server that doesn't allow you to log in. My friend is a moderator on this Minecraft server . When they created it they had the same problem, the server would appear active but it won't allow anyone to join it. They have tried different solutions but none worked. They have even hired an IT consultant to help but there was nothing he could do but offer a piece of advice. He suggested to try and host the server on a different physical server and that did the trick. The only downside was that they couldn't get a refund from the initial one and lost some money but it payed off later.
