Graphical issues with Mupen64Plus

Hello LQ

Playing most games in Mupen64Plus results in graphical glitches, for instance, a collection of random colours for the background of Banjo Kazooie's pause screen and the puzzle pieces transition shows the pieces as black, making the title screen seem off.

Do you know how I can solve this? I've tried every video plugin supplied with Mupen64Plus and the default Rice one (the default one which causes the problems outlined above) honestly seems to be the best one out of the lot.

By the way, I'm using a NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT video card if that is of any relevance.

Thanks in advance for any help

I don't know if this thread will be useful (it's rather dated), but it's the only thing I could find that talks about mupen64plus graphics glitches and NVIDIA cards ... Hope this helps!

I tried Mupen64Plus 1.5, which I find much easier to use but it has the same problems plus audio/video desync, no matter what video plugin I tried, or if (as suggested in the linked thread), I set Rice's plugin 'OpenGL Combiner Type' setting to 'OpenGL for Nvidia GeForce or better'.

I have otherwise left everything (except controller mappings in 1.5) at default settings for both versions (2.0 and 1.5).

Many thanks in advance
