While playing Gnome Hearts 0.3, it will just close unexpectedly. Anyone out there have the same problem. I am running Ubuntu 12.04 with unity on an HP pavilion g7-2069 wm notebook, dual boot with Windows 7(rarely used. It doesn't give any error messages.
Okay, I ran it from the terminal. I got the following:
bob@Bobs-HP:~$ gnome-hearts
(gnome-hearts:894): Gnome-WARNING **: Accessibility: failed to find module 'libgail-gnome' which is needed to make this application accessible
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
bob@Bobs-HP:~$
Ran hearts, it still quit unexpectedly
Went to Synaptics Package Manager and installed libgail-gnome.
Ran gnome-hearts from terminal again. Got the following again:
bob@Bobs-HP:~$ gnome-hearts
(gnome-hearts:14575): Gnome-WARNING **: Accessibility: failed to find module 'libgail-gnome' which is needed to make this application accessible.
Apparently, libgail-gnome did NOT install from the SPM. When I search for libgail-gnome It shows up in the left window but not in the right window. So apparently it hasn't been found.
went to filesystem, searched for libgail-gnome. I could not find the package libgail-gnome. So, I went to terminal and tried to get it that way with the following:
bob@Bobs-HP:~$ sudo apt-get install libgail-gnome
[sudo] password for bob:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package libgail-gnome
bob@Bobs-HP:~$
At this point I am lost. I don't know where to get the libgail-gnome package or how to install it.
I finally solved this problem. I replaced Ubuntu 14.04 with Linux Mint 17.2. No more problem. Thanks for the help.
Well, that's one way of doing it but I'm glad you fixed it.
The reason why you couldn't download/install the library file in question is that, according to post #6 here, it hasn't been available since Natty. I did find a copy of this file here but I'm not sure if it would have worked in your case, due to possible version differences.
