Farcry gameplay jerky

Hi, I've tried FarCry under the LOKI installer (OpenGL rendering) and using Cedga 4.2 For Steam (uses DX9 rendering).

However with both set LOW for all available video options, the gameplay is still jerky. When I move forward, it takes a while for the environment to catch up.

Any hints on how to fix this?

The machine is an XP2400+, 1Gb RAM, 128Mb DDR GeForce4 Ti4200

Running SuSE 9.2 and KDE 3.4

Thanks in advance for your help.
