Unhappy [FIXED] enemy territory on Linux x64

hi all

I'm just a newbie in Linux and i discover the price to pay to be free

I've just installed Opensuse 11-x64 on a P5W-DH-Deluxe (BIOS version is 2704).
I've an ATI X1950XTX 512Mo installed with the newest driver

when i launch the game, i get a black screen for about 2 secs and go back to desktop
if i launch the game by "sudo ./ET +set r_allowSoftwareGL 1", the game starts but that's awfully and dramatically slow so that i couldnt either giving an alias or modifying any settings.

Do you know how can i fix it?

Thanks

Did you install the game as root? (in which case permissions might be wrong)

The other thing to check is that your normal user is in the 'video' group - if the user isn't then there may be problems making use of DRI.

Issue has been fixed by installing the latest drivers from ATI

I use now the version 8.10 for Linux X64 and OpenGL is now supported by the graphic card.

Regards.
