Is there any way to run EA Games like Lord of The Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth 2 on Ubuntu? at one stage i could use wine to start it up but the graphics where almost non existent and i could never actually play the game. any possible solutions?

If you look here:
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...ation&iId=4372
it seems there's a good chance of running it through wine. Look at the HOWTO's if you have problems.

Note: wine is free, cedega is not, but their capabilities are nearly identical from what I've seen.

Or the world of Play on Linux - http://www.playonlinux.com/en

Cedega is far more likely to work, but using POL will only set you back a few minutes (relatively) and costs less
