I installed Point 2 Play first, it starts up but nothing happens. I press every button
butt nothing happends, i read a guide who told me to install cedega trough point 2 play.
But how do i do that ?
So i installed cedega. it works but when i try to install a game with more than one cd it wont work, i change cd and press ok but nothing happens, could anyone please help me with cedega and point 2 play ?
you are running debian-sarge P2P does not work in sarge. well let me put it this way, i have never been able to get P2P to work on sarge. i just do it via cedega and the CLI.
games with multiple CDs you need to have 2 terminals open (or konsoles if you are using KDE) one as user, other as root. the root you need to mount and unmount the CDROM so you can swap the CDs and tell cedega (game installer really) that the next CD is in and ready to load.
it is a bit of a pain in the butt, but it works. i have not tried doing a HD install of a multi-Cd game. example copy all of the CDs into a directory and try to install it from there. some games you can do that with. i just did that with WoW on a winXP box, and will try it on a linux box this weekend.
finnaly got my Nvidia card for my gaming box so i can now say bye bye to windows and will be 100% linux at the house as of this weekend.
i`ve tried to mount and unmout the cd`s as i install, but it`s not working. when the message, insert next cd pops up, i umount the cd and mount up the next one and push ok, but it wont work :S
i was just successful at installing and patching world of warcraft by coping the CDs to a single directory and using Point2Play to install from that single location. did not have to fuss with mounting and unmounting the CDRom drive.
only issue i had was one CD for some strange reason wanted to copy a new directory inside the directory i made. that caused some fuss but was easy enough to fix.
