Can someone help me get Call of Duty 4 installed on Mandriva? I am lost with this patch and those files I need to get the game going.
I'd greatly appreciate the help/steps in getting the game going.

Bad news (I think). I upgraded to the new WINE 0.9.59 today and I tried to apply the usual WINE patch to get CoD4 working. Well, now the patch doesn't apply correctly because the new WINE changed some of the original lines. I tried to fire up CoD4 with the default WINE 0.9.59 but I get an error about the graphics not supporting enough textures in DirectX9. Maybe someone will release a new WINE CoD4 patch for WINE 0.9.59

I revieced a newletter from Transgaming that promoted the Cedega 6.1Beta4 version. It listed that it worked for COD4. I tried it and it does. It work flawlessly. No changing of settings. Just put the CD in and go through the normal Cedega install process. Works top settings. The only spot where it slowed was while the next level was loading the loading screen skipped for a bit. But it was only for a second or two. Gameplay was flawless. My system isn't tops so it should play nicely on everyones computer. My specs have gone down since earlier posts.

Specs:
Intel P4 3GHz
2GB 667MHz RAM
GeForce 8600GT

If your computer is better than that it should work fine. If not try it anyway. Wine works but you have to do patching and what not. Also the gameplay lags from time to time not to mention you can't use top specs. But with Cedega its just like it is running on a Windows Box. Good work Transgaming!

cheers
