americas army wont play

I downloaded and installed americas army with a hitch. I can start the game and browser through the menus and settings and all that however, when I go to play an actual game it goes away and drops me back into the console and leaves me this error message
Code:
[20]  ./armyops-bin(Tick__10USDLClient+0x79) [0x84f85d5]
[21]  ./armyops-bin(Tick__11UGameEnginef+0x261d) [0x8176ffd]
[22]  ./armyops-bin(SDL_SetVideoMode+0x851) [0x810541d]
[23]  ./armyops-bin(main+0x57a7) [0x810e8c7]
[24]  /lib/tls/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xe4) [0x42015504]
[25]  ./armyops-bin(SDL_SetVideoMode+0xe5) [0x8104cb1]
Signal: SIGSEGV [segmentation fault]
Aborting.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Kyle

this means you got a segmentation fault, that means:

Quote:
[Unix] 1. [techspeak] An error in which a running program attempts to access memory not allocated to it and core dumps with a segmentation violation error. This is often caused by improper usage of pointers in the source code, dereferencing a null pointer, or (in C) inadvertently using a non-pointer variable as a pointer. The classic example is:
int i;
scanf ("%d", i); /* should have used &i */
however this may have a magic other reason, reinstalling linux worked for me (when I had the problem with x-chat).
