3D apps in Linux

I need to know if I can run 3dsMax and/or lightwave in linux, that would be a good start for the gaming community.

It looks like Lightwave works in Wine, for some people; 3D Studio appears to have problems, though.

But if you want my advice, use a native Linux application instead. Blender is superb (IMHO better than any other modeler I've used, and getting better all the time).

I'm not sure how these programs help the gaming community, though...
