Exclamation Tv Tuner giving garbled pixels

When I try to use Kaffeine to use my TV tuner (Hauppauge HVR-2250)
I get the following errors and garbled pixels.

Any ideas?

Code:

[00007f7ec0000fa0] avcodec decoder: Using NVIDIA VDPAU Driver Shared Library 390.129 Tue Jul 23 00:27:49 PDT 2019 for hardware decoding

My tv tuner works fine in kafeinne but I'm using a different tuner and different video card. You might need to recompile Mesa with different options. I had to experiment a bit with that. This is what I used and it's quite a departure from the book:

meson .. \
--prefix=/usr \
--sysconfdir=/etc \
-Dvulkan-drivers=amd \
-Dbuildtype=release \
-Dvalgrind=false \
-Ddri-drivers="" \
-Dgallium-drivers=r600 \
-Dplatforms=drm,x11,wayland

I try to stay away from nvidia these days... Granted, there's a lot of opinion in that, but I've always suspected nvidia's rep is as much or more pure brute force brand management than actual innovation.

I prefer AMD/Intel gpu's on blfs (for wayland) but I have a 9500gt and a 960 too. I use primarily nouveau because as you have found out by using a linux binary driver from nv that makes building mesa a pain to get right. It wants to see gl libs but nv proprietary drv uses its own opengl stuff. v390 is for older group of cards...hope thats right for your card which you dont mention the model in your top post.
