OK. this is wierd. I did a configure on the second pass fo binutils and it failed. Tried to configure again and it worked, then I had a fail on 'make install' so I thought maybe something got screwed up so I was going to redo 'configure' and 'make' then I got this when I tried to run the configure.
Code:
creating cache ./config.cache
checking host system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
checking target system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
checking build system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether ln works... yes
checking whether ln -s works... yes
checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables.
What's up with that?
