Problem on installing WvStreams-4.0.1

Hi folks,

BLFS 6.1
FC3 Host

http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs...wvstreams.html
Problem on installing WvStreams-4.0.1 on chroot environment
md5sums of its tarball matched.
OpenSSL-0.9.7g installed without problem/complaint

@localhost.localdomain : /root@localhost:/sources/wvstreams-4.0.1# ./configure --prefix=/usr \
> --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var &&
> make
Code:

.......
streams/wvpam.cc: In member function `bool WvPam::authenticate(const WvFastString&, const WvFastString&, const WvFastString&)':
streams/wvpam.cc:71: error: `fail' undeclared (first use this function)
streams/wvpam.cc:71: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in.)
make: *** [streams/wvpam.o] Error 1
I tried 3 times, including re-download its patch file. But problem still reoccured.

Please advise. TIA

B.R.

Hmm, not quite sure what's wrong. No problems building here. Do you have PAM installed?

No. Is it "Linux-PAM-0.80" same as PAM. The former is optional.

google search found following URL
http://open.nit.ca/lists/archives/wv.../msg00341.html
Code:
.......
Do you have a pam-dev package installed on your system? Change line
71 from fail to false. Or apply the untested patch below.
I don't have PAM installed. I already have the patch download from BLFS site.

Yes, Linux-PAM is the same as PAM. I was figuring it as some sort of dependency on PAM. Just as a note, OpenOffice (well, 2.0 alpha/beta anyways) requires PAM, so you may want to install it sooner or later anyways.

Hi kjordan,

Linux-PAM already installed and also WvStreams-4.0.1. To install BLFS on chroot environment is not advisable. I encountered some problems on BLFS installation. Once I have the kernel recompiled and Broadband connected I'll continue on LFS 6.1 instead.
