patch: command not found

Bit of a newbie trying to use LFS to learn more about Linux - I have gotten a ways into chapter 5, installing tools, and I have gotten to the first package that needs a patch. When I try the command as printed in the LFS book:

patch -Np1 -i ../expect-5.41.0-spawn-1.patch

I get the error:

bash: patch: command not found

How do I get this patch command to run? Thanks for any help,

Verle

Followup

BTW - I am using a command-line only installation of Fedora Core 1 as the base system for this install. I installed all the tools I thought I would need for this build - did I possibly miss a package that is needed to install the patch utility or something?

Nevermind

Nevermind - I just installed the Patch-2.5.4 package on the base system. I have to use the full path to patch (/usr/local/bin) in order for my lfs login to use it, but it seems to be working when I do so.
