LFS Mailing List Questions...

I just subscribed to the lfs-support, lfs-security and lfs-chat mailing lists....just wondering how mailinglists usually work as I've never been involved in one before....

I've read what they say on the LFS site, but it doesn't answer one question:
How often are e-mails sent to me about the subjects I've subscribed to? Like, once or twice everyday, or are e-mails just sent to me whenever somebody asks a question?

If your subscribed to one of the mailinglists, how long does it usually take to get a couple of replies with your problem/question?

Thats all the questions i can think of atm, tah

It all depends on the day and the type of question. lfs-support is reasonably high volume. During a typical day you can expect at least 50 emails, less so on lfs-security and more on lfs-chat.

It sometimes takes a few minutes to get an answer (if you happen to be lucky that somebody is checking his email at the same time you sent your question) or it might take a few hours or a few days if it's a tough question and you are waiting for the right person to read it.

im worried that somethings not right here...
im yet to recieve _any_ e-mails from any of those lists...

the e-mail that listar sent back to me after i confirmed is this:

List context changed to 'lfs-chat' by following command.
>> appsub lfs-chat leighgardiner@hotmail.com 3E128E25:4A9F.3:ysfpung
Subscribed.

>> appsub lfs-chat leighgardiner@hotmail.com 3E128E25:4A9F.3:ysfpung
No such cookie or else cookie is of wrong type.

does that seem alright, or does that bottom error mean something bad

The problem I'm currently having with LFS is shitting me, and I can't wait to subscribe to a mailing list and get some help!

The mailserver's logs show that since midnight EST 43 emails have been sent to your email address.

If you haven't gotten anything, blame hotmail.com. The hotmail server reported that all emails were received properly and have been queued for local deliverly into your mailbox

At least you could use LQ? mail.linuxquestions.net

Oh, and btw, that's Gerard, you could ask your question to him (unless you've already asked it here of course) since he's the LFS creator/maintainer he might have some insight.

he he he, I come here by Choice, I highly doubt anyone has ever annoyed me here

Oh, and I usually like the LFS questions, they always make me think. Even if the answer ends up being simple, it makes me think for a second.

Cool
