Hey all. I'm new to the forums here, so please be kind.
I am presently building a core distro of LFS following the LFS 5.0 book and am making satisfactory headway. It's fun, but my original desire to build a Linux From Scratch distro was for only one purpose.
I eventually want to incorporate my distro in a Shuttle System (spacewalker dot com) for use in my living room - attached to my television. Therefore, the next logical step for me as my LFS system fleshes out is how to incorporate a full-screen "media center" in such a manner that when I boot my LFS Shuttle, I will be presented with a spash screen and then the full-screen interface will appear granting me access to my MP3's, MPG and DivX movies, etc?
I know someone somewhere must have already designed an Open Source Media Center system for Linux. So can anyone guide me in the right direction to the sources so I may see what I can do with it?
Again, in the end I want my LFS system to boot, load only the needed drivers for my Shuttle hardware, then instantly load into a full-screen media control center. I already have what I need to incorporate a remote control into the system - I'm just lacking the interface source code now.
Many thanks and Happy (Linux From) Scratching!
