glibc chapter 6.9 error

Hello everyone I've been giving LFS a try and im currently stuck in chapter 6.9 where I run the command:

Code:
../glibc-2.3.6/configure--prefix=/usr\
--disable-profile--enable-add-ons\
--enable-kernel=2.6.0--libexecdir=/usr/lib/glibc
When I run the command from the glibc-build directory I get the following error:

Code:
checking suffix of object files... configure: error: cannot compute suffix pf object files: cannot compile
Im running it from the live-cd.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
