error compiling mc sources


When i configure the midnight commander sources, i receive this error message :

"The glib-config script installed by GLIB could not be found
"If GLIB was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
"your path or set the GLIB_CONFIG environement variable to the
"full path to glib-config

I couldn't find a glib-config file in my lfs system. I thought it was compiled with glibc-2.3.2...

Your problem is simple, but really annoying when you do not realise the solution. I ran into the same problem the first time I compiled IRSSI from source. All you need to know is that glib != glibc. It is, in fact, an entirely separate library with a lot of helper functions and data structures for C. Here is what the program is asking for:
