If you install dpkg + apt, you can use dpkg and apt-get on your system. However, this doesn't guarantee compatibility with existing debian packages, since they like to group things in their own way (like the KDE packages) and that the .debs may be compiled for a different set of libraries. I believe there's an LFS hint for installing dpkg.
PS: If you want to use a package manager, I'd HIGHLY recommend pacman (
http://www.archlinux.org/pacman), just for the fact that its easier to build packages for it. I personally use it, and like it a bunch.
