Can't access tty
My problem is that the shell "ash" is not inputing all my keyboard strokes consistantly and it sometimes just gives up and says "can't access tty"
I cross compiled a uClibc tool-chain, and started to build a root filesystem. I didn't like the one that was built by the buildroot script so I decided to build one my self. Now the "cross-compile" is actually from an i686 to and i386, so not much of a cross compile. I installed Busybox, uClibc, and dhcpd all properly linked to the right libraries and everything. I then mknod'd some devices in the /dev tree those being
600 mem c 1 1
666 null c 1 3
666 zero c 1 5
644 random c 1 8
600 tty0 c 4 0
600 tty1 c 4 1
600 tty2 c 4 2
600 tty3 c 4 3
600 tty4 c 4 4
600 ttyS0 c 4 64
666 tty c 5 0
600 console c 5 1
so i tar this rootfs up and throw it on my box and use lilo to install the boot loader. just a normal PC, nothin fancy, it boots no problem, console initalizes but the same keeps on occuring. I checked UofG and all I could find was a guy with the same prob, and the replyer suggested going with devfs or something. But I don't want to/know how to jump to devfs yet.
