BLFS 10.0 How do I get total ownership of my blfs system ?

Hi all,
I have found that somehow I missed a command to give me total ownership. I can open backup drives
when I login as root and all of my shutdown and reboot icons are not greyed out. Have no idea
what went wrong. I think this is why some of my .services fail to start with systemd too. Anyone
experience this?
Thanks for ideas and help.

CK

Guess I will wait to next release and maybe try again. I've run into lots of problems with this version. Got a semi-working system but nothing to be
proud of. Thanks for all the help

This has to do with your user being part of the needed groups. Probably for your desktop session the shutdown button is managed by polkit.
LFS is all about learning. When you finally get a working system, you learned how it should be done better next time. And figuring out a way to maintain, update your system is another thing.

Thanks hendrickxm

I had great success with 9.0. This one has tested my patience for sure. But I did have some success with this one. I will have to
check polkit and see what I did wrong. Thanks for the tip
