before part3

hi. i want to continue with the part 3. I removed the man pages and i strippes the binary files as the last page in the past 2 informed me. I have noticed that i have got only 862 mb free h/d space. Tha part 3 reports that 850 are necessary....but i want to know if my free space is enough for completing my LFS system.
It is there possible to gain more free space and if it is how?

For now just go ahead and install.. suggest you remove any .tar.gz files you already installed or the ones you wont need until later. Most will have to be redownloaded and all but it will free up more space. Soon the tools directory will not be needed which should free up some more space..After you install the file you are about to do now go ahead and delete the .tar.gz file. DONT delete the source directory unless the book says you wont need it as most of them will be needed later.

You could always put the .tar.gz files on cd. I would say go ahead and go as far as you can deleteing tar.gz files and selected source directorys that will not be needed later.

I followed the book exactly (stripped and all ) and right now Im at the end just need sound working and am using bout 2.7 gig. I have not deleted the .tar.gz files but that will prob put it bout 1.8 gig when I do. I got everything in lfs and all of blfs minues gnome and kde and some useless networking/server items.
