Where can I download Redhat Enterprise Linux 4

Hi,

May I know where I can download Redhat Enterprise Linux 4?

From the redhat website, I only see Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 available for download. Does anyone know a URL where I can download this older version of Redhat? Or is it no longer available?

Thank you.

Hello and welcome to LQ. Hope you like it here.

Check with your local Red Hat representatives for licensing or see the redhat.com website. Let's make sure you understand: RHEL ain't for free and you shouldn't try ripping off GNU/Linux distributions downloading it nor ask for help with any of that on LQ. If you like the effort Red Hat puts into certification, ISV acceptance, support longevity and stability of RHEL but don't want to pay for it then you could run CentOS (current is 5.1). Else check out the many "choose a distro" threads or the megathread at LQ.

Of course, this request needn't be necessarily nefarious.
A company I do some business with was wanting to try out a product that had a RHEL4 (mmm maybe even 3) requirement. Hadn't been tested with later.
Prospective client wanted to be sure, but couldn't download a 30-day trial.

Centos was mentioned but rejected as "the requirements said ..."
Never heard how it turned out.

Whatever the reasons, the road leads to RH. That's how they want to do business and I respect that. It may be strange in the universe where you D/L about everything for free, but it isn't awkward in the underverse of those who do business that way. Also others depend on RH's business doing OK. Besides, pointing to the official vendor helps me enforce LQ Rules without putting too much effort in that could be used elsewhere.
