Squid and Dansguardian

Dear Sir,

I am using Redhat 5 Enterprises
I am configuring squid proxy. and using proxy guard DANSGUARDIAN

I am using proxy port 3128
and dansguardian port 8080
and put a re director in IPtable

iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i eth0 -p tcp --dport 3128 -j REDIRECT --to-port 8080

And when i command

service squid restart
and then i m getting proper out put and squid is working fine.
But while i command

service dansguardian restart

then i am getting error message that below mentioned

(dansguardian): Error connecting to parent proxy

I understand that it is not able to connect with squid proxy server.
But i cannot trace out where I am missing ? why this problem occurs ?

Please help me.

You should havea n entry in dansguardian.conf along the lines of

proxyport = 3128

Is that there?

If so, is squid listening on localhost? Try

netstat -nalp | grep :3128

Why are you redirecting 3128 to 8080 ?? DansGuardian should do this automatically. Squid should be set to listen to the localhost. On my setup I redirect port 80 to 8080, so that users transparently go through the filter.
