Need advice here. I'm currently setup a domain in a rental hosting provider.

My red hat linux :
cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon Update 8)

I just run Nessus the vulnerabilities scanner and it said that my red hat was outdated and need to upgrade.Below was the actual result :

The remote host is missing a RedHat update package.
Maintenance level 8 is installed, last is 9.

You should install this package for your system to be up-to-date.

I've read the solution provided and they said i need to download the image file from redhat website and make it bootable cd to install them. Or I wrong ?

Question is can i do alternatively instead of using the solution given
because i just have a remote connection to the server and can afford to restart the server because the traffic was starts coming in.
Can i just used 'up2date' command to upgrade it all? If do what does the packages that i need to update? Please help

Yes you can just run up2date to bring the system current, but the system will need to be rebooted at some time for the changes to take effect. To get a list of what packages need updating type something like (review the manpage for up2date for the details): up2date --nox -u --dry-run

I've just update the listed package and now the Nessus don't much complained about the red hat updates anymore..and i I don't even reboot my server to do that..can that be accepted or i must get the server restart?
