RHEL5 kickstart config file creation problem

Hello All,

I need to generate kickstart file for RHEL5 installation on multiple servers using kickstart configurator. In the package selection menu it tells me that package selection is disabled due to problems downloading package information. Any help is greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance
Rado

Hello Rado,

Are you facing this issue on your system or while creating the kickstart file on satellite ? . If this is issue on base RHEL5 system then check that your rpm-db is ok.

My system is not registered with RHN, I just need to create the ks config locally. Just in case backed up existing rpm database and did rpmdb --rebuilddb. After that rpm -qa returns long long list with readable headers.
