You're using RHEL and satellite.... satellite isn't cheap and RHEL isn't free. Since you're paying for both, call Red Hat or check the rhel knowledgebase. In your other threads you never followed up or posted back, so I'm hesitant to offer much help with something you could research yourself.

I already tried looking into redhat knowledgebase and couldnt get the clear answer, hence asked the forum as i needed something urgently.
Also i am not the kind, who jumps onto forums on the first thought.

Nevermind. Thanks for your reply anyways.

Odd, since if you need 'urgent' help, calling RHEL support would be FAR faster than waiting on a forum. And the link I sent you (from the knowledgebase), answered your question.

And if what you found wasn't clear, RHEL would explain it to you....that's why you're paying them.

You'll have to examine your server that the RH Sat currently lives on to determine if the database and Satellite live on the same server or if its an external database. In my experience, we had Oracle 11g powering our RH Sat from an external database for v5.11.

What version of RH Sat are you asking about? If you know the version you can consult their documentation for better help.

Also if you have an active subscription with Red Hat, contact their support for help.
