RHEL AS4 Update 4 Non release of allocated memory

Hi

I use separate DL 380 servers with RHEL AS4 Update 4 for running mysql and different applications. Issue I encountered is the allocated memory is not fully released. It is difficult to think it in application level as it happens in all 4 servers which runs different applications. Everyday there is significant increment in memory usage. When we checked the memory usage of each application using top or ps, it is not incremented. However total memory usage is increased. (Not considering memory used for disk cache) Is there any tools to properly analyze what is happening to that lost memory? Do you have any idea of this issue?
Appreciate if you can help me in this matter.

thanks ........

Hi

I can see quite a lot of memory leak fixes in the bug database. Can you please let me know the exact bug number related to this?

thanks ...

Sorry, no I cannot say which one specifically there are a number of memory leaks fixes for various packages with update 5 not just the kernel, all apply. Some of the memory leak issues that have been addressed are for gnome-vfs, syslogd and a number of other items.
