Redhat Enterprise 3 ES and IPX


recently installed the distro and having trouble setting up IPX support.
looks like ipx module is just not there, what do i do? i would prefer to avoid recompiling the kernel.

If it wasn't compiled with IPX support, then how are you going to get it in the kernel without recompiling?

it was compiled with support as a module, module name is smth like ipx.o on regular redhat but its just not there in enterprise edition

The fix is to install the kernel-unsupported RPM for the particular kernel version and architecture you are running. This adds back all the modules for things that RedHat does not oficially support or test.
