Red Hat ES 3 Install Problem

I have been trying to install Red Hat ES 3 on an IBM Xserver x225. The installation seems to go okay, but when I reboot the box I get the following message:
1962 - Boot sector error, no operating system installed
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER.

I got the same error when I tried installing Red Hat 9.0 on the box. I tried swapping the disk with another box, but I still see the same message when I reboot. This processor was working until I tried to reinstall it using an image created with Mondo.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds to me like you do not have the correct partition marked bootable. You may have installed your boot loader onto the wrong partition, possibly?

Using fdisk, mark the appropriate partition bootable.

Hi,

It seems that your boot partition has got some problems. Do you have another O.S installed on the box? If so, try to re-install grub. (grub-install) if not as LanRx said you might have changed your partitions but forgot to mark one of them as bootable. Using fdisk easily you can find your boot partition and mark it as bootable.
