you should look for installing and configuring samba in your linux boxes, think it's the only way to share something between windows and linux...
can't tell you exactly what to do, since i haven't tried RHEL, nor tried to run samba... but there should be some howtos/wiki to do so on red hat (or another) website ? |
yes u r rt but actually i hv tried it but i m facing some problems...
i hv installed webmin and when trying to connect through it then it gives error as "lpadmin: add-printer (set model) failed: client-error-not-found" so wat does it mean???? i hv configured as ... Printer Configuration Name:pawanOO7 Accepting requests? Yes No - Why not Description: Printing enabled? Yes No - Why not Print banner? no Optional:yes Default printer? Yes Print Destination Local device Local file Remote Unix server Printer Type Direct TCP connection Port Remote Windows server: 10.3.18.203 Printer:hp 1000 User Password Workgroup Check if remote server is up? Printer Driver None (Remote or raw printer) Program CUPS driver:yes please check it out??? thnx |
i never used webmin, so i can't help you out with this, sorry...(i always liked the command line interface)
but it seems there are several solutions to your problem : - by configuring samba, you should be able to see all windows shares http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Sams...ith_Samba/CUPS (this is gentoo wiki, so don't pay attention to USE flags and replace emerge related things by your installer) - by installig cups server on windows, and client on linux, you can share your windows printer to you linux box http://open-systems.ufl.edu/services/printing/cups/ |
