kernel panic - not syncing : fatal exception upon boot up


I just installed Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 on a Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz machine. When I tried to reboot the machine, I doesnt boot properly and produces a kernel panic - not syncing : Fatal exeption message.
