How to compile kernel on RHEL4 (ES)
HI all
I am using Redhat Enterprise Linux 4.
Resently, I registered it and than update all package and kernel.
But after update kernel, new kernel is not worked (error message is Kernel panic).
After update kernel, i can choose kernels on GRUB.
Default kernel is OK, but new kernels are not running.
Is there any configuration after kernel updaten ?
How can I compile or update kernel on Redhat Enterprise Linux 4?
Also I tried to compile kernel which is download from Redhat site, it was RPM package. But it was not running, same error that Kernel panic.
1. Default kernel version is : 2.6.9.5
2. Last updated kernel version is : 2.6.9.22 and 2.6.9.33
3. Kernel version, which I downloaded from Redhat site : 2.6.9.11
There are 4 kind of kernel which I compiled and updated.
Only default kernel when I installed RHEL4 is running.
Please , ... How can I update or compile RHEL4 ?
