DL580G2 RHEL2.1 AS memory upgrade

I have 2 units DL580G2, both running Red Hat Enterprise 2.1 AS, 2 CPUs and 2GB memory. I had added 6GB memory total 8GB at both servers. When the OS boots up, it sees 8GB. But when use 'top' command it shows 4GB.
What should I do to get the memory 8GB? TQ

The details:
%uname -a
Linux 2.4.9-e.3smp #1 SMP Fri May 3 16:48:54 EDT 2002 i686 unknown

%dmesg
CPU1: Intel(R) XEON(TM) MP CPU 1.50GHz stepping 02
CPU2: Intel(R) XEON(TM) MP CPU 1.50GHz stepping 02

%top
Mem: 3858952K av, 3853756K used, 5196K free, 256K shrd, 196512K buff
Swap: 2097072K av, 0K used, 2097072K free 3366588K cached
