Question change passwd using squirrelmail

Dear Friends,

I am using squirrelmail-1.4.3a-7.EL4 into my LinuX enterpeise 4 Edition .Now I want to change
password facility using this . For this reason I have to do the following activities :

1) Download change_passwd-3.1-1.2.8.tar.tar from plugin section in squirrelmail website

2) Copy it into /usr/share/squirrelmail/plugins and untar it

3) I don't make change it's config.php file And I just run the "conf.pl" script .

I got the password change screen , and when I try to change a specified user password
then it doesn't works i.e., password doesn't change . But it shows
"user password chage successfully"

I don't understand what is the problem . I need somebody's help .... ...

just a thought
are your email users in /etc/passwd? cause the plugin can only change if they are regular users and not just email users.
