p_test: Did you try what was suggested? If so, what were the results? Have you read the "man grub" manpage and related manpages?

Maybe you are, but I'm not. I'm here because this is a community.

what i said before the wasted space should work. i have read that one version of grub was buggy and you will have to reinstall grub after editing the file, like with lilo. but that is just one version and i believe it was only after the bootsplash patch was applied. i dont know what distro you are using, but i doubt it has this version of grub with this patch, so you should just be able to edit the file and reboot. look for the config file in /boot/grub and like i said before this turned into a chat room, there are 2 possiblities for the file name, grub.conf and menu.lst. if you have both, just edit both, cuase i dont know how to tell which is going to be used, nor is it in the scope of this forum. ha, scope, some people should read the forum rules, and not use them for personal enjoyment. and i am reporting it to the moderators.

Let's get this topic back on topic please. If you want to discuss things not related to the original question, email one another and or start a new thread in General please. And let's refrain from calling anyone names please, or this thread will just be closed instead.
