adding user and groups

Is there an easier way to add a list of usrer where only there login name and the password are different? (Rather that typing the entire line by hand)

And is there an easier way to assign already exsisting users to a group.

Code:
while read USERNAME PASSWD; do useradd $USERNAME -p \
$PASSWD -d /home/$USER; done <list
Where 'list' is file with lines of form <name><space><password>.

(I do not remember useradd syntax, sorry)

You can do the same trick with usermod to change groups.

Asking a new question completely unrelated to original question in somebody else's thread doesn't work... Try creating new thread in suitable forum. It is "New thread" button under topic list. It is recommended to use forum search, though - I guess squid configuration was discussed, and maybe you can take one of solutions and use it right now instead of waiting for replies..
