porting from programs from red hat linux to montavista

Hi,

Can anyone out here give some pointers regarding "how-to" of porting programs from Redhat Linux to montavista embedded OS.

The code I want to port is a server program and I am able to compile/run it in Redhat and centOS.

If its a socket program,then it must be in C.For C u need only gcc compiler.I have tried this when i was having a C program on my side i was using Fedora 7 and client was using Mandriva 2007.It was giving me the same results on both side.From my point of view only your compiler matters.
