Not me. I get my gear out of a dumpster.

Safe to buy from. It is paypal so yes.
I even buy stuff from China/Phillipines and if broke.
Paypal covers the dispute.
Usually the vendor ships a new unit free of charge in my experience.
But photos of breakage are needed as proof.

You should be just fine buying from them.

The reason I asked is because they currently don't accept credit cards. They do take Paypal and credit cards link to paypal. So I guess it should be safe as you said.

Thanks rokytnji

Hi,

Welcome to LQ!

I just made a purchase from http://ameridroid.com/ via PayPal for ODroid-C1 and support hardware. I have yet to have a bad experience with PayPal. I will see how the back-order for the stepper shield is handled. Not set for production until the end of March/2015.

Looking forward to experimenting with the new hardware.

Thanks onebuck

I haven't decided on which product to get from ameridroid.com, but I am leaning towards the odroid-c1 as well. I will also get the usb to uart module to connect to the onboard serial port console of the odroid-c1 as my desktop monitor doesn't have a HDMI cable.

I will have to use a program like minicom to emulate a terminal like the good ol' days

Hi,

Here is what I purchased;
Code:
ODROID-C1
HDMI Cable (Micro, Type D)
5V/2A Power Supply
16GB MicroSD UHS-1 C1 Linux (Pink Dot)
Chroma C1 Servo Board
Heat Sink
C1 Tinkering Kit
I was thinking of getting the 'C1 3.2 inch Touchscreen Display Shield' but unsure about using it or needed for the application I am working with. I think that SSH will suffice since C1 will be married with Arduino Uno and sub-circuits.
Looking forward to experimenting with this project.

Hi,

A little information from ameriDroid.com feedback;
Quote:
Gary,

Your order is currently on hold as we are waiting for the shipment of Chroma C1 Servo Boards to arrive. According to the first line of the Chroma C1 Servo Board description, it states “Expected ship date 23-Mar-2015 - Preorder now”.

We have two options for you at this point:

1. We can refund the Chroma C1 Servo Board and ship the rest of your order. You can then order the Chroma C1 Servo Board on another order and we will ship it as soon as it arrives (potentially before 23-Mar-2015).
2. We can continue to hold your order until the Chroma C1 Servo Boards are in stock.

Let us know which way you wish to proceed.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Hi, I cannot find any way to track or check status of my order at your site. R097928932 Order number and I am wanting to know the status of the order. Thanks! Gary
I elected to have the refund to get the other parts shipped so I requested the refund and will reorder for the Chroma C1 Servo Board

Hi,

I just got my order from Ameridroid today. Order shipped on Friday.
I did reorder the 'Chroma C1 Servo Board' Sunday. Plus I decided to get the touchscreen and made a separate order for it because the stepper is not to be available until 03-23-2015.

I am going to get start on St. Patrick's day because it will be raining here.

Hi,

I just received a email to confirm shipment;
Quote:
1 C1 3.2 inch Touchscreen Display Shield
1 Chroma C1 Servo Board
Apparently the stepper Servo boards are now available. Projected date was 3-23-2015.
Products should be here by Friday 3-20-2015.

I am impressed by the response & shipping by ameriDroid.com
I will continue to purchase & recommend ameriDroid.com for their ODROID products.

Hope this helps.
Have fun & enjoy!
