How to get version.h?

Hello to everybody~
There is a problem that I can't get the file version.h when I built cross compile tool.
It's my steps here:
tar -xvzf linux-2.6.10.tar.gz

cd linux-2.6.10
make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-linux- menuconfig

In the menu I chose:
System Type->ARM System Typs->/Samsung S3C2410

And I saved and exited.But I can't find version.h in /include/linux.
I made some search in Google,the result is I should do it manually.
So I do:
make /include/linux/version.h

But it said that no rules can build version.h.
Did someone encounter this problem and could give me a hand.Thanks a lot~!

suppose your "linux-2.6.10" is at usr/src/linux-2.6.10
cd /usr/src/linux-2.6.10
make include/linux/version.h
