Which distro is faster out of the box?

I currently use Debian Sarge and I love it. However I have a P3 800 MHZ 128 MB Ram.
I am thinking about trying Slackware 10.1 on it but I was wondering does it run faster than Debian or not. I run Window Maker as my window manager so I am trying to compare the two. Also my wife uses KDE so I was wondering if which distro runs KDE faster on that system if you know.

Also if you know of any other distros that run fast using those managers please let me know.

My wife loves KDE 3.3 and is not a fan of the new 3.4.

I am not using this system as a server just a secondary desktop.

Thanks

Try Xandros, uses KDE, you can buy it or download it with bittorent if you like. It comes with everything you will ever need and if it's missing something you want, just download it with it's easy-to-use XandrOS Networks.
Hope that helps!

i have never actually tried pure debian but to me ubuntu was alot slower then slackware. Slackware is the fastest distro i have ever tried thats one of the main reasons i keep it.

I've just started using MiniSlack and it is really fast. I had never tried Slack before.

Kanotix64 is fast too if, of course, you have 64 bit hardware.

I've also thought Damnsmall and Puppy were fast for live cd but they cannot be installed on sata drives.

Slackware has probably always seemed the snappiest in performance for me, too... at least it "feels" that way.
