What distro goes best on a small partition?

My system has a 515MB root partition. '/boot' is 14MB, and <swap> is 65MB. I don't need too much free space after everything is installed, because I can use a 3GB NTFS partition for storage. It's currently running a VERY minimal Mandrake. What distribution would be best for such a small disk? A GUI would be nice, but is not necessary.

Debian

You might like to try Debian, the base install can be put on 17 floppy disks.

You can install from a root, a rescue, and four driver disks and then get any other packages that you want over ftp with the apt-get program.
