Hi all - can't get my sound card to work. I have two soundcards in my machine - one is a built-in one on the motherboard (Compaq Evo) think it uses an intel chipset - and the other is a new Soundblaster Live I have just bought. But neither will work.
When I run System Settings > Soundcard Detection, I am asked for my root password (which I enter) but nothing else happens. If I go into System Tools > Hardware Browser, the intel soundcard is displayed in there ?
I am running FC3 (Gnome desktop) any ideas please?

I'll have to admit that i have no idea what's going on. I would try to re-install the applet, but that's my solution to everything (are there any updates?).
It seems like there's some bug or something in the applet's code. Maybe you should file a bug report or hope that someone wiser than me check's out this thread.
