slackware with apt-get!?
While browsing Linuxpackages.net i stumped across this: http://www.linuxpackages.net/details.php?name=apt-get , basically its atp-get from Debian ported to slackware! Now im asking if someone tried this out already and does it work? If no one tried it do you think its worth giving it a try? I heard many good things about apt-get, but usually its not good idea to port such things from distro to distro, It's like having slack with yast2 or debian with mandrake's diskdrake or something...
Any comments / suggestions? In your oppinion should i try apt-get on slackware?

Just one suggestion: try Debian! If you want to experiment the power of apt-get you'll find that there are *many* utils related to it: right now I could easily re-package my installed debs or discover and remove any unused or orphaned library lying on my box and a lot more, with few commands.
Install Debian, it takes less time and, if you want, less space than most distros, so you can experiment with dpkg and apt-get, You can also convert and use rpm and slack packages!
I assure you once you get used of it, you really start appreciating its stability and the way the whole Debian project is lead: a real "concept-distro".

Thanks for the suggestion, and i did try debian early in my Linux experience, and it wasn't a good experience, probably because i didnt have enough knowledge to set it up like it should be. Anywayz i became a Slack addict now, but i'll have to give Debian another try as soon as i get a new HD.
but as the saying goes: "Once a Slacker, always a Slacker!" so i dont think i will change to Debian even if it prooves to be better, because i learned the way slack is setup and i will find it very hard to change now...
Thanks for the suggestion again! any other comments?
I used to think that after i had solidly used slackware a few years back, but actually trying debian proved me wrong.
whilst slack is a good distro, apt-get is possibly the single most powerful application available for linux, as well as being a massive time saver.
So, now when i dont use SuSE, i use debian. slack is just limited in the number of packages you can get for it.
If you were going to use apt-get for it, i imagine you would install only a base slack system, and then install debs from there so your dep will be met.
