Unhappy Mouse woes on FreeBSD.

Well, I can get the mouse to work. My problem is that it jumps all over the place with the slightest movement. I tried ALL the different protocols, and no luck. All of them act the same way. I tried to use the "/dev/mouse" by linking to sysmouse, but still no luck. Any ideas?

What type of mouse is it? Which Xfree does 4.5 use? I've never bothered to change up from 4.4... and what's the /dev/ you had it using to begin with?

Cheers,

WEll, I think it's XFfree 4.1, and it a generic scroll mouse. I'm using a 2 button right now. (It works) :P

When in doubt, just hand hack the XF86Config file in /etc/X11/

In the mouse section:

Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux" (or "/dev/mouse")
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no"

This should make the scroll work with everything but netscape and a few other apps.

Cheers,

Finegan
