Question low memory requirements

what ditrubutions would you guys suggest to run if i wanted to have a nice gui, like fluxbox or gnome running, and still do all the other fun things on my box. i've only got 128mb RAM

i'm just looking for a distro which aint gonna put to much strain on my memory. i'm running FC3 at the mo with gnome its allright but i cant help feeling that something would run a bit faster if it didnt want so much memory to use.

i use slackware and xfce4 which runs very fast on my 256mb of RAM. I'm sure it would run equally fast on your system.

with only 128MB any distro you choose will feel the effects of GNOME...

i can second ingvildr's suggestion:

i'm happily using Fluxbox and XFCE on a 128MB slackware box right now...

I've got Debian running KDE one a p3 800 with 128 RAM... Sure it's not the fastest thing in the world, but XP seems to be just as sluggish.
