linux distribution satisfaction

I have used so many linux distributions but I don't know which linux distribution I should use for my server. Cause if I use fedora core they have it new releases in two or three months so you have to update or reinstall again and again. If you use slackware you don't all the packages in the form of tar.gz. If you use suse it has its so many startup, firewall etc scripts that you don't know where to make changes all the things you have to use yast.

I have heard about white box linux but it is new in the market it may have a lot of bugs.

Can any body tell me which linux distribution will make me satisfied?

Once again, very subjective question.. In your position, I chose CentOS (for one box) and Debian (for another). Honestly though, only you can decide what fits for you..

It doesn't really matter, pick whateverdistro you know the best and just strip it back to what you need.

You're wanting to use this on a server? Go with gentoo.

Fedora is designed to be a testing area, not a fully stable workhorse. Go with Whitebox, CentOS, Mandrake, Debian, Slackware or anything that has a more stable cycle.

White Box has now merged with CentOS.

Both are essentially Red Hat Enterprise without the support, so they aren't really new.

Debian is the easiest to keep up-to-date and maintain as far as software goes.

I recommend Debian for server use simply because it's easier to keep current. APT is really great compared to chasing down dependencies.
