just for the heck of it I'll throw one out.
Its a toss up between debain and slackware. If i could have debian with the slack-style init's and speed...man oh man!
These threads are funny to me. I wonder how many people have actually tried all the major distros out there and really given them a chance.
I was a RedHat guy for a long time. Back then, it seemed everything besides RedHat did things very strange. Of course, changing distros take time.
I've used every major distro out there except for Debian. I here Debian is really great but I LIKE Gentoo the best. Just because I LIKE it the best doesn't mean it is the BEST distro out there. Its a matter of preference really. Its like asking "What is the best car?"

Well of course but I can't come right out and say that.
I notice you are using nitro sources with reiser4. Your machine must be blazing fast. Had any stability issues yet? Nitro sources doesn't seem to play nice with me without a LOT of messing with it.

that has to be the best logic I've ever been witness to. the depth and intelligence behind your argument is nearly incomprehensible. I don't think I've ever made such a good argument since that time I called the kid next to me a doodoo-face.

Stability issues? Er, yes! Its been as stable as a big, unmovable rock (solid)! An, yes, it's quite snappy. Duron 800 running KDE. Can you believe it?
